🌟 The Story Behind Edgemoor Academy

Even before I became a mom, I knew homeschooling would play a role in my child's education one way or another. This belief was not just a theory, but a deeply personal conviction that would shape my future and ultimately lead to the birth of Edgemoor Academy.

📖 Our Beginning

When kindergarten arrived in 2020, we found ourselves in the middle of the COVID era. My son began school online, connecting with his teacher for only a short time each week. The rest of his learning took place with me by his side.

It was during this season that I discovered the immense joy of guiding his education and witnessing his growth through hands-on learning. This joy became the driving force behind Edgemoor Academy.

🏡 Choosing Homeschooling

In 2021, we briefly tried first grade in a traditional classroom, but it quickly became clear that homeschooling was the right path for us. From that point forward, I committed fully to teaching at home.

What I realized was that homeschooling could be so much more than lesson checklists and heavy binders—it could be a journey filled with creativity, flexibility, and joy. This realization became the cornerstone of Edgemoor Academy's educational approach.

✨ Building the Vision

I began crafting unit studies that combined structure with imagination, and little by little, Edgemoor Academy took shape.

What started as a handful of unit studies created for our own homeschool quickly grew into a vision for an entire curriculum brand. Along the way, we asked ourselves:

What if learning could be open-and-go and adaptable to every family's unique rhythm?

The answer became our mission: to design resources that are learner-focused, parent-friendly, and rooted in curiosity, kindness, and critical thinking.

Along the way, Edwin and Sophia joined the team—two playful owls who symbolize wisdom, encouragement, and calm.

They're more than mascots; they're companions on the homeschool journey, providing kids with a sense of structure and fun across subjects and grade levels.

Today, Edgemoor Academy offers a growing collection of:

But this is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we'll be expanding into full-year curricula for grades PreK–6 (with plans to continue through grade 12), adding more unit studies, seasonal projects, and creative resources designed to make homeschooling simpler and more joyful.
