💡About Edgemoor Academy

Real Roots. Real Life. Real Learning.

Edgemoor Academy didn't start as a business—it started at my kitchen table, with a notebook, a lot of questions, and a strong desire to give my son the education he deserved.

That mom was me—Belle.

In 2020, like many parents, I was thrust into homeschooling. My son's kindergarten class consisted of just two hours of online instruction per week, and I quickly realized I was doing most of the teaching. What began as a necessity turned into something more profound: a passion for meaningful learning. We stepped away from public school completely by 2021, and I began creating something that actually worked. Not just for my son—but for families like yours.

🏡 Why "Edgemoor"?

The name "Edgemoor Academy" reflects the feeling I want homeschooling to bring—peace, joy, and a sense of grounding.

When it came time to name our homeschool, I wanted something that captured the calm and clarity I found in our new home. It sits on a quiet street called Edgemoor, and from the moment we arrived, everything just clicked. That name felt right.

Edgemoor Academy isn't just a place—it's a symbol of what I want this curriculum to be: a safe, enriching foundation where families can thrive—a home for learning.

🧩 Our Educational Philosophy

At Edgemoor Academy, we blend the best of several teaching approaches to create a flexible, creative, and learner-focused experience:

  • Charlotte Mason Approach: Gentle pacing, meaningful content, and a focus on beauty and curiosity. We don’t follow a strict CM method—but we embrace her belief in short, focused lessons, living ideas, and whole-person education.
  • Unit Study Approach: We integrate subjects around rich, thematic topics—so learning is immersive, not fragmented.
  • Project-Based Learning: Kids don’t just absorb information—they engage with it, create from it, and connect it to real life.
  • Neurodiverse-Friendly Design: Our open-and-go resources are intentionally visual, scaffolded, and multi-sensory to support a wide range of learners.

We’re secular-friendly, learner-focused, and rooted in curiosity, kindness, and critical thinking—so families of all backgrounds can find a rhythm that works for them.

💛 Why It Matters

Homeschooling isn’t just about academics—it’s about building a life of connection, growth, and purpose. It’s about noticing the little wins: the spark when a concept clicks, the joy of reading aloud on the couch, the confidence that grows when children learn at their own pace.

At Edgemoor Academy, we believe homeschooling should feel sustainable, enriching, and rooted in relationships. That’s why we design our curriculum to do more than check boxes. It’s built to:

  • Bring subjects to life through art, stories, and hands-on exploration

  • Make learning intuitive with visual tools and guided structure

  • Support you, the parent, with ease-of-use and clear planning cues

  • Center joy, curiosity, and flexibility—so homeschool fits your real life

Because when homeschooling works for the whole family, it becomes more than school—it becomes a way of learning and living together.

At Edgemoor Academy, we exist to equip you with tools that help you wonder, learn, and grow—without the overwhelm.

🦉 Meet Edwin & Sophia

Edwin and Sophia are the heart of Edgemoor Academy—two friendly owl mascots who guide children through their learning journey. Representing both wisdom and playfulness, these beloved characters appear throughout our curriculum, website, and merchandise.

Whether it’s coloring a page, solving a math puzzle, writing poetry, or exploring science, Edwin and Sophia are always there as familiar companions. They help students feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn—offering encouragement, consistency, and a bit of fun across subjects and grade levels.

No matter which owl your child connects with more, they’ll never feel alone on their path to wonder, learn, and grow.

👩🏫 Meet Belle — Founder & Homeschool Mom

Hi, I'm Belle—and Edgemoor Academy is my heart's work.

From an early age, I taught myself to read and even began tutoring elderly adults when I was just 9 years old. Education has always been a true passion of mine. Over the years, I have studied a wide range of subjects, including computer science, graphic design, web development, accounting, and education.

I began publishing workbooks in 2023, starting with Safari Numbers (a handwriting book for numbers 0–20), and then Unearthing Tutankhamun, a hands-on, story-rich history unit study. What followed were dozens of unique, carefully crafted workbooks—and a growing curriculum for grades PreK through 5th (and beyond).

I've created resources like:

  • Monthly full-year curriculum by grade (open-and-go, minimal prep)
  • Seasonal + thematic unit studies (Halloween, Christmas, Edgar Allan Poe, Rainforest, and more)
  • Subject-specific books (Ocean Life, Boost Your Writing, Money Practice, etc.)
  • "Color, Cook, Learn" series exploring U.S. regions with food, art, and geography.
  • Special projects, such as Our Rights, Our Constitutionand the Number the Stars Unit Study, and more, are coming soon.

I'm a teacher, a curriculum developer, and a mom on a mission: to create the homeschool resources I wish I had when I started.

And now, I'm sharing them with you.

🔭 Looking Ahead

Edgemoor Academy is just getting started—and growing fast. We’re actively developing curriculum for PreK through 12th grade, designed to be open-and-go, visually engaging, and parent-friendly.

Here’s what’s already included (or coming soon) in our curriculum:

  • Tests and answer keys
  • Booklists and suggested reads
  •  Learning scopes and pacing guides
  • Print and digital formats (tablet-friendly + fully screen-free options)
  • Printed curriculum bundles and optional subject packs
  • Standalone units for enrichment, holidays, or themed deep dives

What’s coming in the next 1–3 years:

  • 🛒 A fully integrated digital storefront
  • 🤝 A supportive parent community with resources, Q&A, and more
  • 🎓 Curriculum expansion to cover all grade levels from PreK through 12

💛 From Our Home to Yours

I created this curriculum for my child—but I built this brand for you.

I want Edgemoor Academy to be your home base for confident, creative, real-life homeschooling—a place where structure meets flexibility, and where your child can truly love learning.

Welcome to Edgemoor Academy.
I'm so glad you're here.
